VBS FAQ's

My child needs special accommodations during VBS. What is available for them?

At CityHeart we are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment that allows all children to access worship and ministry. Although we are not able to accommodate kids with special needs now. It is our desire to have this available in the future. If your child needs special accommodations during Summer Blast, and you feel like they would still be able to have a good experience, please email Shelly Vickery at kids@cityheartjackson.com for more information.

Will you be able to administer any medication to my child during VBS?

Thank you for understanding that we will not be able to administer any over-the-counter or prescription medications during VBS, except in the case of an Epi-Pen or a rescue inhaler because these are life saving medications.

My child has a food allergy. What should we do?

We want to support your family with excellence at CityHeart and want you to help us decide what your child can safely eat. During registration, you will be given the option to indicate that your child has a food allergy. After completing your registration, you will receive an email two weeks prior to VBS to let you know what dinner will be served each day. This email will also contain instructions on how to send approved food to VBS with your child if needed.

My child has a rescue inhaler. How should we send it to VBS?

Please send your child’s rescue inhaler (and spacer, if needed) in a plastic zip top bag with their first and last name written on it to the first day of VBS. Please give the rescue inhaler to your child’s group leader when you drop your child off for the day. Their group leader will keep the inhaler with them at all times.

My child has an Epi-Pen. How should we send it to VBS?

Please send your child’s Epi-Pen in a plastic zip-top bag with their first and last name and allergen written on it to the first day of VBS. Please give the Epi-Pen to your child’s group leader when you drop your child off for the day. Their group leader will keep the Epi-Pen with them at all times.

What's the process for drop off and pick up?

DROP-OFF: On Tuesday, June 18th, for drop-off, you will need to escort your child(ren) to the registration table inside of the building to get their lanyards; from there, you will receive a number card to keep in your vehicle for pick-up. After the first night, you can stay in your car for drop-off and utilize your number card for pick-up; you will receive a handout about this procedure on the first night after signing your child in.
PICK-UP: For pick-up, you will stay in your car and drive around to the front of the building, and volunteers will be coordinating for your child to come out to your car, and your family numbers will be matched.

Is this an overnight conference?

CityHeart VBS will not be an overnight conference.

* Doors open at 5:30 pm every day for dinner.

* Worship starts at 6:00 pm.
