We choose to display Christ's love in all we do and strive to foster a community centered around faith in God, hope for the future, and love for our city.

CityHeart Church launched in 2016, and since then, we have not only grown in numbers, but influence and impact within our community. We believe your heart matters and every person is loved by God. We believe that by accepting God’s love and salvation through Jesus Christ, hearts are eternally changed. As a result of that heart change, we believe that a person can begin to impact those around them and the city in which they live.

OUR MISSION

We exist to bring people far from God to a place where they are one heart with Him and one heart with the Family of God.

OUR VISION

A church home where people, no matter what they look like or where they come from, experience the true presence of God, grow spiritually, and are equipped to see and serve their city.

OUR CORE VALUES
We follow Jesus.

Jesus is at the center of all we do. He’s the model that we follow and the Savior that we all need.

In our culture, everyone who leads is known for their willingness and ability to follow.

We're all heart.

No matter what we look like, what we’ve been through or where we’ve come from, we are loved by God. We choose to love what God loves.

We love our City and every heart within it. In our culture, we allow love to lead every encounter, interaction, and decision.

We live to serve.

We’re always looking for ways to serve others, recognizing that jumping in to help is more rewarding than sitting on the sidelines.

In our culture, everyone has a place to use their gifts and talents. There are no bench players.

We give and grow.

We are devoted to generosity, following the pattern of God. We believe giving is an avenue for growth in our personal lives and within our City whether it’s our time, talent, or treasure.

In our culture, generosity is infectious. We all jump at opportunities to bless others.

We honor others.

We are faithful to honor one another above ourselves, reflecting the love Jesus shows to us.

In our culture, we uphold honor for everyone in all interactions.

We strive to get it right.

Our message won’t change, but we’ll consistently evaluate ways to improve our methods.

In our culture, we love flexibility; understanding that the right way may be different than how it's always been done.

We're all in.

We’re passionate people. We worship God and we love one another with everything we’ve got.

In our culture, we recognize passion as a necessary ingredient in the pursuit of God’s purpose in our lives.

OUR BELIEFS

This is the answer to the question. Give enough detail to adequately answer the question, but consider using multiple questions so that each answer is concise.

THE BIBLE IS GOD’S WORD TO ALL PEOPLE.

It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth, authoritative and divine, without any mixture of error and completely relevant to our daily lives.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 3:16

GOD HAS EXISTED IN RELATIONSHIP WITH HIMSELF FOR ALL ETERNITY.

God exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 1:35; John 5:21-23; John 14:10, 16; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:8-10; James 2:19

THE LOCAL CHURCH EXISTS TO REACH OTHERS FOR JESUS.

Jesus gave explicit instructions to all believers to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to follow the commands and teachings of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.  We believe it is the role of the local church and every believer to spread the message of Jesus Christ as well as follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Mark 16:15-18; Matthew 28:16–20; Romans 10:14-15

MAN IS A CREATED BEING, MADE IN THE LIKENESS AND THE IMAGE OF GOD.

He was created to have fellowship with God, but through Adam's disobedience, sin came into the world, severing the relationship between God and His creation. As a result, man cannot attain a righteous relationship with God through his own effort.

Genesis 1:26-30; Genesis 2:7, 18-22; Genesis 3; Psalm 8:3-6; Psalm 32:1-5; Psalm 51:5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32; Romans 3:10-18, 23; Romans 5:6; Romans 6:6; Romans 7:14-25; 1 Corinthians 1:21-31; 1 Corinthians 15:19, 21-22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22; Colossians 3:9-11

SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD AND IT CANNOT BE EARNED THROUGH OUR OWN EFFORTS.

The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

Isaiah 1:18; Isaiah 53:5-6; Isaiah 55:7; Matthew 1:21; Matthew 27:22-66, 28:1-6; Luke 1:68-69; Luke 2:28-32; John 1:12; John 3:16, 36; John 5:24; Acts 2:21; Acts 4:12; Acts 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18; Romans 3:23-25; Romans 5:8-10; Romans 6; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:20; Galatians 3:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 9:24-28; Revelation 3:20

BAPTISM IS AN OUTWARD EXPRESSION OF A DECISION TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST.

Baptism in water by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. The following recommendation regarding the water baptismal formula is adopted: "On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A PERSON.

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, promised as a gift to all who believe in and confess their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is also referred to as the spirit of Truth and lives in all believers. The Holy Spirit provides believers with the character and power of God. The character of God is displayed through the fruit of the Holy Spirit and the power of God is displayed through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17, 26; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 19:1-7; Galatians 5:22-25; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

THE BIBLE TEACHES THAT WITHOUT HOLINESS NO MAN CAN SEE THE LORD.

Holiness is not perfection but the dedication of oneself completely to God. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite yet progressive work of grace; this begins at the time of receiving salvation and continues until death or Christ’s return.

Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14

HEALING IS THE PRIVILEGE OF EVERY BELIEVER.

Healing is for the physical ills of the human body. It occurs by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for through the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of every member of the Church today.

Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24

Jesus will return for his bride.

The return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a blessed hope, motivation for holy living and a great source of comfort for all who believe and follow him. While no person knows the day or hour of his return, we know that Jesus is coming for his church. When he returns, the dead in Christ will be resurrected first and the believers that are alive will all be transformed and caught up (raptured) to meet the Lord in the air to be with and reign with him forever. As his followers, we constantly watch and pray for his promised return.

Matthew 24:36, Acts 1:11, Hebrews 9:28, Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13

MAN WAS CREATED TO EXIST FOREVER.

We will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25; 1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15
